Important Application Note:

CYA takes 48 to 72 hours to fully dissolve in pool water. Do not backwash your filter for 3 days after adding dry stabilizer through the skimmer.

To raise CYA by 10 PPM in a 10,000-gallon pool, add approximately 13 oz (0.81 lbs) of dry stabilizer.

Cyanuric acid (CYA), often called pool stabilizer or conditioner, acts as sunscreen for free chlorine. Without CYA, UV rays from sunlight destroy up to 90% of free chlorine in under 2 hours.
For standard chlorine pools, target 30–50 PPM. For saltwater chlorine generator pools, target 60–80 PPM, as salt cells require higher stabilization to keep up with continuous chlorine production.
It takes approximately 13 ounces (0.81 lbs) of dry cyanuric acid per 10,000 gallons of pool water to raise CYA by 10 PPM.
CYA does not evaporate with water. The only reliable way to reduce high CYA is to drain a portion of your pool water and refill with fresh tap water.
